4 things I know to be true after 1 year of virtual coworking

The virtual coworking club has been going for 12 months now (we launched in May 2020 as a result of COVID). I've hosted 100+ sessions and shared my weeks with some incredible women. The Club has been a game-changer for my personal happiness and business growth. From the conversations I've facilitated and the moments I've experienced, here are 4 things I know to be true about life and biz after one year of hosting this amazing club.

1. Virtual connections can be just as powerful as in-person connections

I've witnessed countless collaborations and friendships blossom via the club—entirely online. I feel extremely close to so many of our members and can't believe we haven't met IRL! How cool that technology has enabled this connection for us in what was a very isolating and confusing time in the world. Forever grateful.

2. Self-doubt impacts everyone, so be kind to yourself

We're all human (as far as I can tell 🤖), and we all experience highs and lows. It's unavoidable, and nothing to be ashamed of. I've seen it in others and felt it in myself. Everything ebbs and flows, over and over. The sooner we accept this the easier this biz journey becomes.

3. Boundaries are vital for success

I've seen many babes teeter on the edge of burnout. As women living the WFH life, we are the only ones responsible for knowing when to switch off, walk away from the desk, and create space to recharge. We can't give and give and give *despite being told to always provide more and more value*. Remember, people will take as much as you'll give them, so create those boundaries babe.

4. Wellbeing matters above all else

If we aren't fuelling our bodies, resting our minds, and nourishing our souls, nobody wins. I know it's a struggle for most of us to rest without the guilt *yes productivity-guilt is a thing*, but it's essential. I know the daily walks outside were a refuge to everyone during COVID, so even as restrictions ease, carry this habit into every day. It's amazing what breakthroughs and ideas can be sparked with a good podcast in the ears and a little fresh air in the lungs. It can be that simple. You are your greatest asset, so let this be a reminder to fill your own cup first.

What started out as a way to support fellow freelancers navigate the uncertainty of COVID together, has blossomed into a beautiful community that continues to connect and support freelancers working from home who still deal with feelings of isolation. I can’t wait to see what the next year brings. If you are interested in joining the club, pop your name on the waitlist here and you’ll be first to know when doors open again.
